The pilot path
Where my preparation for a Commercial Pilot Licence stands today, what I'm studying, and what comes next.
The flight plan
I don't hold a pilot licence yet, and I haven't started formal flight training. What I have is a cleared medical, three DGCA exams to sit, and a plan to build a strong theory base before I fly.

What I'm studying
I'm studying on my own, and I'm going past the minimum required so that formal flight training starts from a stronger base. The aim is to understand each subject well enough to see how it matters in real flight operations, not only to pass the exam.
- Air Regulations
- The regulations that govern aviation, and why they exist. First exam, scheduled for September 2026.
- Technical General
- Aircraft and technical concepts. I want to sit this as soon as I can, before the end of 2026.
- Aviation Meteorology
- Weather and the meteorological principles behind safe flying. Also planned before the end of 2026.
What I'm building beyond the exams
Airline flying asks for more than knowledge. These are the qualities I'm working on, and where I already practise them.
- Discipline
- Structured self-study for the DGCA exams, and process discipline at work: keeping records accurate and consistent.
- Situational awareness
- As a driving instructor I watch the learner and their surroundings at the same time, and step in when something needs correcting.
- Decision-making
- I teach responsible driving, control and disciplined decisions in a structured, controlled setting.
- Communication
- Explaining procedures to learners, coordinating with a team, and turning client requirements into working websites.
- Continuous learning
- Teaching myself streaming tools, and now teaching myself the theory behind flight.
The objective
To become a disciplined, safety-conscious airline pilot through structured training and continuous learning, and one day contribute to the standards and operations of a leading Indian airline.
